Behavioural Economics has an invaluable role to play in the financial services industry, for instance, by providing insights into default processes that can overcome procrastination, information overload, and choice overload (amongst other biases) which dissuade critical behaviours such as plan enrolment and portfolio rebalancing. With the evolution of online investment and borrower platforms, behavioural economists and UX designers should ideally work together. Behavioural Economics ensures these powerful platforms are evidence-based and informed by a scientific understanding of people’s perceptions of time, money, and risk.
